Wag Central here, with a few tips to help socialize your pup!
1. Get them out of the house, early and often. Remember their nose is their guide, so new smells, places, and adventures should be exciting and fun. Be patient and let them sniff!
2. Model confident behavior for them. You’re the leader of their pack and the way you behave as their trusted caretaker. will help boost their confidence.
3. Provide multiple opportunities for your dog to get to know other dogs. A great place for this to start is at doggy daycare, breed meet-ups or a dog park. Your dog doesn’t need to be friends with everyone, but reinforcing the appropriate social behavior their mom taught them when they were teeny little pups is really beneficial. This will ensure they always engage with other dogs in a proper and appropriate fashion.
