Can I take a tour?

Of course! Wag Central prefers appointments for tours of our facility during lobby hours, please call ahead to check availability.

How do I make a reservation?

You can reserve services through our online client portal , email our front desk at: info@wagcentralct.com, or via call/text to 203.895.4202

What are the prerequisites for making a reservation?

Please complete our registration forms by logging in here or visiting the front desk at Wag Central. Proof of vaccinations (24 hours prior to your dog coming in, plus approval from a Wag team member) and a Personality Profile are required for all dogs at Wag Central.

We require a veterinarian certificate proof of the following vaccinations: DHPP, Rabies, Bordetella, Canine Influenza (bivalent vaccine), and Leptospirosis, as well as a negative fecal (ova, parasites, and Giardia) within 6 months—please be specific with your vet about this testing. We do not accept a fecal float test.

With any of these vaccinations, they need to be administered a minimum of 2 full weeks prior to the reservation to ensure they have had proper time to dissipate through your dog’s system.

All dogs 7 months and older must be spayed or neutered.

Your vet can fax Wag Central at 844-310-0171.

All pups must be free of fleas and ticks.

4-legged guests who attend Wag Central will require a Personality Profile administered by a Wag Central staff member. This allows the Wag Central staff to get to know your dog, their social skills, and play style.

All daycare dogs are required to wear a breakaway collar with the owner’s info which is purchased on-site for $20.00. Safety is our number one priority at Wag Central. Breakaway collars are the safest choice for play in an open environment because they disconnect quickly and easily.According to Connecticut regulations, all licensed animal care facilities like Wag Central must collect and maintain current copies of each dog’s town license to partake in our servicesNeed information about licensing your dog in Connecticut? Please visit the Animal Control Unit website to learn more.

We also require an active credit card to be kept on file for all clients.

Do I need to make a reservation for daycare services?

Reservations are recommended within 24 hours, as we have regular daycare clients and some boarding dogs in daycare. We do accept daycare drop-ins, however, priority will be given to those dogs with reservations or in our boarding program.

What is your daycare cancellation policy?

We ask that you give 48 hours for daycare cancellations, exceptions will be made for emergency situations.

What are your boarding requirements?

Similar to daycare, we require a veterinarian certificate proof of the following vaccinations: DHPP, Rabies, Bordetella, Canine Influenza (bivalent vaccine) and Leptospirosis, as well as a negative fecal (ova, parasites and giardia) within 6 months—please be specific with your vet about this testing.

All dogs must be free of fleas and ticks.

Boarding dogs will spend their days with the other pups currently boarding at Wag Central. Because of this uptick in physical activity during your dog’s stay, they may be more tired or thirsty than usual when they return home.

Can I bring my dog’s food during their stay at Wag?

We encourage you to bring your dog’s food during their boarding stay at Wag Central to ensure their routine stays as close to normal as possible.

When packing your dog’s food, please ration out each meal in labeled bags and be sure to provide a few extras as a safeguard. We will need to charge a $15 food prep fee for our boarding clients who do not pre-bag food for their dog’s stay with us.

We will accommodate unique feeding instructions such as add-ins, specialized meals, and cooking and thawing instructions. In some cases, a meal fee will be added.

If you forget your dog’s food during their boarding stay, you can purchase meals for $3 (per cup of food) from Wag Central.

Will you give my dog their meds?

Absolutely! All medications must be clearly labeled in their original packaging with dosing directions clearly written. If your pet willingly takes their oral medication in food/treats at mealtime, this service is complimentary (please provide whatever food they take their medication in). If your pet is uncooperative with medications or needs medications outside of meal times, an additional fee may be added.

NOTE: If your pet is diabetic or epileptic they are required to board in our specialized care area.

Will you board a dog with special medical needs?

Please call us to discuss your dog’s individual needs prior to booking their boarding stay to see if we can assist, or refer you to someone who can help.

Is your facility secure?

Wag Central promotes a safe, healthy, and fun environment for all 4-legged guests. We are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our facility features security cameras, an alarm system, and fire retardant building materials in the case of an emergency. Wag Central has a well defined plan of egress.

Do you accept intact males?

We understand and respect that some dogs be neutered later due to health and longevity issues, however, we expect that dogs attending daycare are neutered/spayed by 7 months. In a social environment like Wag Central, testosterone in the play space may lead to unwanted behaviors amongst our four-legged clients, including those who are spayed and neutered.
