Can I take a tour?

Of course! Wag Central encourages tours of our facility during lobby hours. Tour times are subject to change during peak and holiday times, please call ahead to check availability.

How do I make a reservation?

You can reserve services through our online client portal or via telephone or text to 203-377-1700.

What are the prerequisites for making a reservation?

Please complete our registration packet by logging in here or visit the front desk at Wag Central. Proof of vaccinations (24 hours prior to your dog coming in, plus approval from a Wag team member) and a Personality Profile are required for all dogs at Wag Central.

We require a veterinarian certificate proof of the following vaccinations: DHPP, Rabies, Bordetella, and Leptospirosis, as well as a negative fecal (ova, parasites and giardia) within 6 months.

With any of these vaccinations, they need to be administered a minimum of 2 full weeks prior to the reservation to ensure they have had proper time to dissipate through your dog’s system.

We ask that all 4-legged clients be free of fleas and ticks.

4-legged guests who attend Wag Central will require a Personality Profile administered by a Wag Central staff member along with a complimentary 4 hour daycare evaluation period. This allows the Wag Central staff to get to know your dog, their social skills, play styles and what other daycare dogs they gravitate to and play well with. During this time, please make yourself available to pick up your dog on the chance he/she is not a fit for our daycare program. Personality Profiles need to be scheduled with a few hours notice.

All daycare and boarding dogs are required to wear a breakaway collar* with a Wag Central tag. You can bring your own or purchase the set on-site for $20.00. The cost of the tag alone is $5.00.

*Safety is our number one priority at Wag Central. Breakaway collars are the safest choice for play in an open environment because they disconnect quickly and easily. This type of collar is least likely to get caught on fencing, a dog’s tooth, etc.

Do I need to make a reservation for daycare services?

Reservations are highly recommended with 12 hours notice, as we have regular daycare clients and boarding dogs in daycare. We do accept daycare drop-ins, however, priority will be given to those dogs with reservations or in our boarding program.

What is your daycare cancellation policy?

We ask that you give 12 hours for daycare cancellations, exceptions will be made for emergency situations. No shows will be charged the full amount for their reservation. If you miss two appointments without notice, your future daycare reservations will be cancelled and all new reservations will require full payment of the booking up front. A daycare package is required for all standing reservations.

What are your boarding requirements?

Age Requirements 4 months or less in specialized care, 8 years or older (at owner discretion) specialized care as well.

Can I bring my dog’s food during a boarding stay or daycare lunch?

We highly encourage you bring your dog’s food during their time at Wag Central to ensure their routine stays as close to normal as possible. Sudden dietary changes can add further stress to an already potentially stressful situation of being away from home.

If bringing your dog’s food, please ration out each meal in zip lock bags and ensure to provide enough bags of food for a few extra meals as a safeguard. Failing to do so will result in Wag Central utilizing our own food based on bag feeding instructions with associated costs. See below.

Puppies under the age 9 months will be given a daycare lunch. Dogs over the age of 9 months are discouraged to be given a lunch during day care as they don’t want to leave the fun!

We will accommodate most special feeding instructions such as add-ins, specialized meals, cooking and thawing instructions. In some cases, a $5 per meal fee will be added.

If you forget your dog’s food, you can purchase meals for $3 (per meal) from Wag Central for the duration of your dog’s stay. Wag Central serves Grandma Mae’s Country Naturals chicken and rice formula.

Will you give my dog their meds?

Absolutely! All medications must be clearly labeled in their original packaging with dosing directions clearly written. If your pet willingly takes their oral medication in food/treats, this service is complimentary (please provide whatever food they take their medication in). If your pet is uncooperative with oral medications or needs other medications such as: ear or eye drops, creams, sprays, etc., there will be a $2 per medication per dose. There is a charge of $5 for injectable medications per medication per dose. NOTE: if your pet is diabetic or epileptic they are required to board in our specialized care area.

Is your facility secure?

Wag Central promotes a safe, healthy, and fun environment for all 4-legged guests. We are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our facility features security cameras, an alarm system, and fire retardant building materials in the case of an emergency. Wag Central has a well defined plan of egress.

What if my dog doesn’t play well with others?

Wag Central is a dog inclusive place. If your dog is not a proper fit for our daycare program, they are still welcome to board with us and will receive potty breaks, play time, and one-on-one attention by our staff 2 additional times during the day for a daily additional charge of $10. Please note, this charge is mandatory when your dog is not a fit for our daycare program.

Do you accept intact males?

Yes, dogs will be accepted into the boarding and daycare programs based on their behavioral assessment and evaluation. During the evaluation, Wag Central staff will get a good sense of where your intact male fits with our other daycare dogs and who he is good playing with. We strive to keep all our dogs safe and comfortable.

Do you accept in heat females?

Yes, while females in heat will NOT be permitted to partake in daycare, they are welcome to board with us. They will be taken out 2 additional times a day for potty breaks, exercise and one-on-one love and attention from our staff during the day for a daily additional charge of $10. Females in heat are not permitted to board in our community room.

What do I need to know about booking during the holidays or during other peak times?

For best availability, it is recommended reservations be made well in advance. Wag Central requires a minimum 3 night stay during the below peak times for boarding. Should you need to cancel your holiday and peak season reservations, please see cancellation policy below.

If you are picking up or dropping off boarding dogs on a Holiday, we are open limited times for you to do so. Please check with our Concierge for those time slots. Also note that there is a $30 surcharge for dropping off or picking up on a Holiday.

Please note that the Vegas Villa is available for booking to approved dogs during these times.

Peak and holiday season cancellation policy

For non-holiday boarding stays, please notify us of your cancellation 48 hours in advance.

For holiday and peak season boarding reservations, we require 10 days notice and a non-refundable deposit for the first night at the time of the reservation. If we do not receive your cancellation within the determined timeframe, you will be charged 50% of your scheduled boarding stay. No shows will be charged for the reservation in its entirety.

What is Wag Central's return policy?

We want you and your pups to Wag all the way home with purchases made at our boutique.

If your dog destroys, obliterates or demolishes an item bought at Wag, please contact the manufacturer directly. Most brands we carry have a replacement policy.

Unused merchandise can be exchanged at Wag within 30 days of purchase for a store credit. Please bring your receipt, printed or digital.

Used merchandise cannot be returned.
